A simple method for preparing 2, 6-diamino-3, 5-dinitropyridine-1-oxide

Abstract

A simple synthetic method of 2, 6-diamino-3, 5-dinitropyridine-l-oxide (DADNP-1-O) was described. DADNP-1-0 was synthesized using 2, 6-diaminopyridine as a starting material in three steps including acidification, nitration and N-oxidation with a total yield of above 90%. The structures of intermediates and DADNP-1-0 were determined by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HPLC, DSC and elemental analysis.
