Abstract

A series-connected 18-pulse rectifier using isolated transformer is proposed in this paper. In order to study the operating characteristics of the proposed rectifier, an 18- pulse isolated transformer is designed. The equivalent model of the rectifier is established based on the structure of the rectifier, by analyzing the switching function of three-phase bridge rectifiers, the operation modes of the rectifier are obtained. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed rectifier operates under an 18-pulse rectification state, the load voltage and load current keep constant.
