Abstract

This review mainly focuses on the preparation of poly[(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)methylsiloxane] (PTFPMS) and provides an overview of PTFPMS in the following aspects: raw materials (1,3,5-trimethyl-1,3,5-tris(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)cyclotrisiloxane (D3F)) preparation for producing PTFPMS, mechanisms of polymerization, polymerization behaviors and dynamics, advances in academic research about PTFPMS, major manufacturers of products prepared by PTFPMS. Moreover, the properties as well as the applications of PTFPMS and the ecological impacts of producing PTFPMS are also involved in this review.
