Abstract

With the development of science and technology and social economy, the traditional power grid increasingly unable to ease the contradiction between supply and demand of electric power with high demand of power quality, so the ultra-high voltage (UHV) power grid arises at this moment. The UHV power grid is composed of AC (alternating current) transmission and transformation projects of 1,000 kV and above and DC (direct current) ±800 kV and above. It is the most advanced power grid with the highest voltage level, the strongest transmission capacity, and the most advanced technology level. It has the characteristics of large capacity, long distance, low loss, little land occupation, and strong networking capacity, but now the research of the national economic evaluation is less. In this paper, the current power grid project economic evaluation methods are summarized, and then the theories and methods applicable to national economic evaluation of UHV power grid are summarized, to promote national economic evaluation of UHV power grid research and provide the theoretical basis for the development of UHV power grid.
