Abstract

To resolve the problem of the huge amounts of samples which are difficult to be transferred and saved in multi-sensor testing system, a data compression method based on improved Binary Tree is presented, which compresses the original data by correlation among adjacent samples and among multiple sensor data. The algorithm eliminates correlation of the data in 2-D direction in order to save the memory and enhance the efficiency of the data transmission. This method has the advantages of easy programme, a small account of computation and simple hardware implementation, and it achieves a satisfactory result in the experiment on Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system.
