Abstract

In this paper, a permanent magnet induction plate eddy current brake is introduced. The longitudinal static end effect and lateral dynamic end effect of the high-speed permanent magnet linear eddy current brake are analyzed by analytical method, and some correction coefficients are introduced. Then, the finite element method and the modified analytical model are used to calculate the braking force characteristic curve of the high-speed permanent magnet linear eddy current brake. The results show that the error of the two methods is very small, which verifies the accuracy of analytical model.
