Abstract

In this paper, a novel zero-voltage transition (ZVT) snubber cell is developed for pulse width modulated (PWM) dual buck half bridge inverter (DBHBI) operating in current continuous conduction mode. The soft-switching condition can be realized within the full load range and main switches voltage and current stresses are within the allowable range. It simplifies the ZVT soft-switching topology by taking advantage of the characteristics of dual buck half bridge inverter. The characteristics of high reliability and low THD of dual buck half bridge inverter are remained in the proposed inverter at the same time. The ZVT soft-switching can transfer the stored energy effectively and ensure the auxiliary circuit in a state of soft-switching. Consequently, simulation result verifies these analyses and indicates that the switching losses can be reduced and the efficiency of the system can be improved remarkably.
