A novel method for phase control of Hemispherical resonator gyro with the inconsistent electrode plate distance

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

If the fabrication error exists, the plate distance between detection electrodes of Hemispherical resonator gyro (HRG) will be inconsistent, which will lead to the error of phase control signal in the frequency-phase control loop. Therefore, a new method to solve the error of phase control signal is of significance for the improvement of the performance of HRG. In this paper, the influence of the inconsistent plate distance of detection electrodes on phase control signal due to fabrication error is analyzed; then, a new method is proposed to suppress the phase error. Finally, it is verified by several simulation experiments that the phase signal after process has higher precision than the phase signal before process.
