Abstract

This article proposes a novel path-following and formation control method for multiple unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). A FPAI-LOS guidance law is introduced to estimate the ocean current and compensate for the drift force. The finite-time dynamic surface approach is employed to design the path-following control signals. A leader-follower formation control strategy under leader-follower for multi-USV is presented. A Lyapunov function is designed for stability analysis. Numerical simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed path-following and formation control laws.
