Abstract

In this paper, a DC/DC converter based on a novel series-parallel resonant network for LED driver is proposed. In this novel resonant network, the input impedance can be designed to be resistive at proper operating frequency, which means the input current can be the same phase with the input voltage, so the switching-off current and losses can be reduced. Also a detailed analysis of resonant network properties are described, including the voltage gain, the input impedance, the conditions to guarantee the ZVS characteristic. A 20W prototype is proposed in the laboratory and the experimental results verify the proposed converter own the low losses and high efficiency characteristics.
