Abstract
The new polyoxometalate double-supporting transition metal complexes, {[Co(phen)2]2C2O4} {H 2PMo3VIMo5VV 8IVO44[Co(phen)2H2O] 2}·7H2O (1) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis, IR, XPS, ESR and elemental analysis. Compound 1 is composed of a highly reduced tetra-capped pseudo-Keggin polyoxoanion supporting two transition metal complexes, a binuclear cobalt complex cation and lattice water. The magnetism and third-order non-linear optical properties of 1 have also been studied.
