Abstract

The accuracy of SINS (strapdown navigation system) related with the gyro tightly, so improving the accuracy of gyro is very urgent. There are two main ways of improving the accuracy currently. One is improving the physical structure which is not practical in our daily research, and the other is modeling the gyro's error by a series of testing and compensating the gyro on the basis of error model which is a valid strategy. But the latter has some limitations as complexity, huge data stream and so on. Aiming at this issue, this paper proposes a new flexible calibration method to improve the accuracy for the fiber gyro which is used widely. The principle of new method is designing a closed-loop calibration method based on open-loop calibration method. The simulation test shows the calibration accuracy is higher than that of existing method.
