Abstract

In this paper, a MIMO antenna array for 5G mobile terminals was proposed. The defected ground structure (DGS) was used between the array elements to increase the antenna element isolation and the antenna bandwidth at the same time, which was also analyzed by the theory of characteristic mode. The parameter of the designed antenna array was simulated and optimized by CST software. The bandwidth of the antenna is 3.3GHz-3.6GHz and 4.8GHz-5GHz. The performance of the simulation shows that the proposed antenna array can be used in 5G mobile terminals.
