Abstract

Design of a millimeter-wave conformal low sidelobe microstrip patch antenna 1 x 8 elements array on a cone surface is presented. The hemline feed method (HFM) is used to design the patch element. This kind of elements and parallel feed network is used for forming the conformal low sidelobe microstrip array based on the design principle of Dolph-Chebyshev distribution and T-junction power divider. The radiation features of the array are discussed to illuminate the realization of a low sidelobe level (-30.5dB) of the array. Simulations by the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO are given to verify this present design.
