Abstract

In order to improve the traditional methods for solving field-line coupling problem of shielded cables, a hybrid method is studied, which combines the FDTD method for electromagnetic field and the transmission line theory. The coupling module is divided into two systems: inner system and outer system, respectively solved by field method and circuit method. The lossy soil and grounding methods of the shield are considered when solving the outer system. For the inner system, the FDTD method is used to obtain the time-domain solution of transmission line equation. By this method, current induced by EMP in near ground coaxial cable is analyzed. Compared with experimental data, the simulation results demonstrate the method to be correct.
