Abstract

Gyrowheel is a multi-function system, providing two-axis rate sensing and three-axis actuation for small spacecrafts. To ensure measurement accuracy, calibration experiments are required, which are affected by the noises in the output signals of the gyrowheel. The unique characteristics of the gyrowheel noises are considered. Thus, a hybrid signal denoising strategy is presented based on the combination of the empirical mode decomposition method and the traditional filter. The denoising results for the measured signals show the effectiveness of the hybrid denoising strategy for removing both high-frequency periodic noises and random noises.
