Abstract

A high-corrosion-resistance high-entropy alloys (HEAs) coatings with single BCC solid solution structure was successfully prepared on Cr13 steel by laser remelting technology. The composition, microstructure, and corrosion properties of HEAs coatings with different Al contents were studied in detail. FeCrCoAlx HEAs coatings significantly improve the corrosion resistance of Cr13 steel, and the FeCrCoAl1 HEAs coatings exhibits the best corrosion resistance, which were attributed to the uniform distribution of various elements in the coatings due to the higher △Smix of HEAs and the preferentially formed uniform oxide films (mainly AlOx and CrOx) on the coatings due to the lower △G.
