A hardware-assisted software synchronization scheme in TMR

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Fault tolerance system is applied in kinds of critical applications, with the triple modular redundant (TMR) being the most common. But how to synchronize those modular is a problem. This paper describes the design and implementaa hardware-assisted software synchronization scheme. This scheme involves a series of synchronization APIs, which are called by application programs, and synchronization virtual device, which maintains synchronization to the voter by changing synchronization message. Finally, we implement this scheme in ARM7-based Samsung S3C44B0X CPU under μCLinux.
