A frequency synchronization algorithm for OFDM in mobile satellite communication systems

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a frequency synchronization algorithm for OFDM in mobile satellite communication systems. We first construct the mobile satellite communication channel model and choose suburb as simulation environment. Based on the conventional frequency offset estimate method with one training symbol which has two identical parts in time domain, we propose an algorithm with more identical parts in training symbol to improve the performance of fractional frequency offset estimation. Results of simulation can show that the proposed algorithm can lower BER at the receiver.
