Abstract
This paper proposed an isolated bidirectional converter for renewable energy system. The proposed converter integrates a front-stage Buck-Boost and a Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter, combining the advantages of both circuits. By cascading the Buck-Boost topology, the Dual Active Bridge circuit can achieve voltage matching under wide input voltage range. In contrast with traditional dual active bridge converter, the proposed converter has expanded soft-switching zone and reduced reactive power circulating current. The simulation and experiment conducted under single-phase-shift modulation demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed converter.
