A design of full-digital CNC interface based on FPGA

Abstract

A FPGA-based full-digital NC system is designed, various functions such as servo control, USB communication control, encoder signal control and digital-analog expansion interface control are integrated in the FPGA. The direct digital communication between CNC and drive system as well as other peripherals are realized in this system. The method of direct digital communication and the designing process of USB controller are expatiated; a brief introduction of software NC device based on standard PC is given; simulation results indicate that this structure solves the question which traditional numerical control system need to process digital-analog conversion between transmission process and the realize direct digital communications.
