Abstract
The photovoltaic power system has been developed in many areas. Photovoltaic generation is highly dependent on weather conditions and is subject to frequent violent fluctuations, leading to frequent power curtailments and brownouts. In order to solve this problem, this paper mainly studies the day-ahead dispatch strategy of high-proportion photovoltaic grids with virtual power plants. Firstly, the day-ahead forecast of photovoltaic power is carried out. Then a day-ahead alert of the ramp event of Photovoltaic power is given according to the numerical weather prediction (NWP). After that, a price compensation strategy is developed for the grids with a high proportion of photovoltaic power, and the resources in the virtual power plant are encouraged to participate in demand response through price. The simulation example verifies the effectiveness of the optimal dispatch strategy proposed in this paper. The results show that the virtual power plant can participate in the day-ahead optimal dispatch of grids while cooperating with the fluctuation of photovoltaic power, and effectively reduce the operating cost of grids with a high proportion of photovoltaic power.
