Abstract

This work presents a low-profile and high-gain metal lens antenna operating in E band for 5 G Backhaul. The lens consists of an 18 × 18 array of 3-bit phase-shifting elements, excited by a 2 × 2 array of magnetic dipole feeders. The proposed antenna is capable of operating across the entire E-band. It achieves a peak gain of 29.59 dBi. Compared to the single-feed configuration, the multi-feed design reduces the focal length by half while maintaining the peak gain with only a 0.38 dB reduction. The proposed lens antenna holds great promise for applications in 5G backhaul.
