Abstract
A 7 MeV medical cyclotron magnet for positron nuclide production was designed. The design method of the magnet was introduced in detail. The isochronous tuning is carried out by using the piecewise function padding method, and the cutting limit of the inlay is determined by analyzing the properties of the tuning response function. The beam dynamics calculation of the closed orbit is carried out for the design result of the magnet. The design result satisfies the requirement of axial focusing and has a large lateral acceptance. The isochronous error is less than 0.2%. The design energy of 7 MeV can be achieved at the radius of 310 mm.
