2130.7 nm, single-frequency q-switched operation of Tm,Ho:YAlO 3 laser injection-seeded by a microchip Tm,Ho:YAlO 3 laser

Abstract

A diode-pumped injection-seeded Q-switched Tm,Ho:YAlO 3 (Tm,Ho:YAP) laser was demonstrated in this paper. Using a single-longitudinal- mode Tm,Ho:YAP microchip laser at 2130.7nm as the seed laser, a single-frequency and nearly transform-limited operation of the frequency-locked pulsed laser was achieved by injection seeding. The frequency-locked pulse laser output energy of 2.8mJ at 100 Hz with a pulse width of 289 ns was obtained. We measured the pulse spectrum, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of which was 4.5 MHz, by a heterodyne technique.
