Abstract
The interfacial bond behavior between the precast ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) layer and existing concrete is critical for rehabilitation. This paper presents an experimental study on the short-term bond behavior of such interfaces using direct shear tests and oblique shear tests. The effects of the interfacial bonding material, the shear key, the strength of concrete and the shear angle on the bond strength and bond-slip properties were examined. A bond-slip model for the interface between the precast UHPC layer and existing concrete was proposed, and the interfacial bond stiffness values for different parameters were suggested. The following conclusions can be drawn: the bond strength of specimens bonded by a structural adhesive is higher than that of specimens bonded by a grouting material, the bond strength can be improved by shear keys; the bond strength and bond stiffness are greatly increased from the oblique shear tests.
