Abstract
Through the research on the electrically-assisted (EA) roll forming process of micro-texture on 2195 Al-Li alloy thin sheet, the influence of multi-parameter interaction on the forming defects of micro-texture with EA roll forming was explored, and the mechanism of current on the roll forming defect control was clarified. The refined and uniform solid solution aging microstructure has a significant influence on the improvement of the filling height and the filling surface quality of micro-texture on Al-Li alloy thin sheet. When the current intensity, the reduction amount and the width of the micro-groove increase, and the shape of the groove approaches rectangle, the filling height of the roll formed micro-texture becomes larger. The current path also affects the filling height of the micro-texture. The roll-formed warping height of thin sheet decreases with the increase of current intensity, which shows the best improvement for the thin sheet with rectangular grooves. The worst and the middle cases are the triangular and the oval micro-grooves, respectively. When the current intensity is 100 A and the solidification time is 120 min, the improvement of filling effect for the roll-formed micro-grooves is the best, with an improvement rate of approximately 50%. At the same time, the warping height of the thin sheet, the filling height inconsistency of the micro-texture, and the orange-like peeled features on the filling surface are all effectively suppressed under the action of current.
