Abstract

Based on laser cladding technology of titanium alloy surface, the research progress of functional coatings with good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidation resistance and biological activity was reviewed. And the law of material selection and strengthening mechanism of cladding layer were analyzed. The advantages and necessity of laser cladding biomimetic coupling unit and multifunctional coating were discussed. Aiming at the causes of major defects such as cracks and pores in the cladding layer, improvement measures such as preheating the substrate, post-treatment, adjusting process parameters and preparing gradient coatings were proposed. Meanwhile, the future application and development trend of laser cladding technology on titanium alloy surface were prospected in order to promote the innovation and development of this surface coating technology and provide new ideas for the preparation of high quality, high efficiency and low cost new cladding coating.
