Abstract
This paper analyze the seismic performance of RC frames with corroded plain reinforcements. A macro-model is proposed for beam-column joints with considering corrosion-induced deterioration of material properties and reinforcement-concrete bond slip performance. Through simulating the available test data, the proposed macro-model is validated. A corroded RC frame structure using plain reinforcement is taken as the study case. Based on the SeismoStruct software, the finite element models are developed for the intact and corroded case frames. Both static pushover and dynamic time-history analysis methods are used to examine the seismic performance for the case frame. The results show that the corroded plain reinforcement can cause more serious deterioration for structural performance against earthquakes than the corroded deformation reinforcement.
