Abstract

In order to improve the safety of pavement operation in winter and realize the low temperature dynamic warning of pavement, this study carried out research on the preparation and thermochromic properties of pavement low temperature thermochromic compounds. Considered the thermochromic temperature and discoloration chromatic aberration, the constituent materials of the low-temperature thermochromic compound were determined; the influence on the thermochromic properties of the discoloration compound was discussed by changing the dosage of each component; the discoloration compound was optimized based on the weighted optimization method. On this basis, the color developing mechanism of the thermochromic compounds was revealed by differential scanning calorimetry and infrared spectroscopy, and the thermochromic compounds was applied to the preparation of color-changing markings, reflecting the good discoloration performance and durability verified the feasibility of the discoloration compound in road engineering applications. The research results show that: the type of color developer determines the color difference, and the type of solvent determines the color change temperature. With the increase of the amount of color developer, the color difference and color change temperature of the thermochromic compounds decrease. The discoloration chromatic aberration of the compounds first increase and then decrease, and the discoloration temperature increase. The optimal mass ratio of leuco agent, color developer and solvent was determined by weighted priority method to be 1∶1∶20; crystal violet lactone and n-decyl Alcohols compete for bisphenol A, and crystal violet lactone competes for more bisphenol A at low temperature to make the system colored. At high temperature, n-decanol captures more bisphenol A to make the system colorless. It has passed the outdoor weather resistance test, abrasion test and anti-fouling test prove that the thermochromic marking line has good thermochromic properties and durability.
