Abstract

The copolymerization of epichlorohydrin(ECH)with ethylene oxide(EO)and allyl glycidyl ether (AGE)and that of propylene oxide(PO)wtih EO and AGE were catalyzed by i-Bu3Al/H3PO4/1,8-diazabicyclo [5,4,0]undec-7-ene(DBU)to prepare ternary unsaturated polyether rubber,whose microstructures and thermal properties were characterized. The results show that the copolymerization of EO,ECH,and AGE as well as PO,EO,and AGE in different ratios is successfully achieved at room temperature with i-Bu3Al/H3PO4/DBU in toluene to obtain ternary unsaturated polyether rubbers with 100% of yield with controllable compositions. Chlorinated polyether rubbers(ECH-EO-AGE)and propylene oxide rubbers(PO-EO-AGE)with different compositions demonstrate high relative molecular mass and narrow distribution. ECH-EO-AGE and PO-EO-AGE are ternary random copolymers. The glass transition temperature of ECH-EO-AGE and PO-EO-AGE with different compositions are below -38 ℃ and -72 ℃,respectively.
