Abstract

The grinded coal gangue was used to manufacture foamed concrete mixed with coal gangue. The influence of coal gangue content on the volume density, slump flow and compressive strength of foamed concrete mixed with coal gangue was studied when grinding time was the same. Also, the effect of grinding time was investigated when coal gangue content was the same. Results indicate that that the addition of coal gangue has little effect on the volume density of foam concrete when water-material ratio is 0. 37. The volume density of foam concrete reduces firstly and then increases by the increase of grinding time when water-material ratio is 0.27. The compressive strength of foamed concrete decreases with the increase of water-material ratio and coal gangue content. In addition, the compressive strength of foamed concrete first increases and then decreases with the grinding time of coal gangue. Specimens with the grinding time of 75 min show the optimum compressive strength.
