Abstract
Under the "30 • 60" double-carbon target, China's energy revolution in the next 40 years will be an important stage of building a new energy consumption system, involving the optimization, adjustment and transformation of energy structure in various fields. The combination of electrode boiler and suitable heat storage system can supply hot water and steam in a large area, which is an electrothermal conversion equipment with great application potential. Firstly, this paper introduces the application and development status of electrode boiler under the " double-carbon target", then discusses its application prospect in industry and life, then analyzes the common problems in the industry, and points out the technical difficulties that need to be overcome urgently in China. The conclusions are as follows: in the future, electrode boiler will have a bright future in renewable energy power generation consumption, peak regulation of power grid, clean heating and rural electrification; China's electrode boiler industry has been able to manufacture independently, but many difficulties remain which mainly focus on four aspects: water quality, electrode materials, corrosion and hydrogen evolution. For the above problems, some technical suggestions are put forward, such as electrode manufacturing, H2 detection, suppression and treatment, safety protection system, etc.
