Abstract

Organic halogens are a kind of typical organic pollutants and can cause harm to the ecological environment and human health,so they have attracted considerable attention from more and more researchers and engineers. Organic halogens widely exist in various wastewater,characterized by various kinds and difficult degradation. The existing organic halogens analytical methods have not been widely used in wastewater because of high cost and difficulty in automation. In order to promote the cognition of total organic halogen(TOX)analytical methods in wastewater,the sources and pollution levels of TOX in wastewater were reviewed. The main TOX analytical standard methods at home and abroad were summarized and compared,and some suggestions to overcome their shortcomings were put forward. In addition,the current research status and influencing factors of separation,conversion and detection procedure in TOX analysis were summarized,and some new methods such as membranes in electricity-driven process and vacuum ultraviolet photolysis were introduced. Finally,some future application and research directions of TOX analytical methods were proposed,in order to provide reference for realizing efficient TOX monitoring in wastewater.
