Abstract

Ship propeller is serious damaged by ice impact in freezing seagoing areas. In this paper, ice-blade impact models are established, in which SPH (smoothed particle hydrodynamics) method is used in ice model. The dynamic responses of ice-blade collision with different speeds, impact positions and different radii of ice are simulated by the nonlinear finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. By changing a single collision factor above, different structural dynamic responses of damage deformation of the blade, blade elements maximum stress and impact force are carried out. Then the influence of the above factors is obtained, which provides reference for the structure design of ship propeller under ice impact.
