Abstract
The replaceability of the replaceable coupling beams linked with H-section steel was studied. Firstly, based on the relative location of bolt hole and the residual shear angle of energy-dissipated beam, an evaluating method for the replaceability of replaceable coupling beams was proposed. Secondly, three types of connections including endplate-bolt group connection, ear plate-bolt group connection and endplate-shear key connection were proposed. Finally, based on the results of the evaluating method and replacement tests, the replaceability of the replaceable coupling beams with different connection types were compared and analyzed. The results are as follows: the maximum replaceable residual shear angle and replacement time of the specimen using CI connection are 0.007 rad and 40 min, respectively. The maximum replaceable residual shear angle and replacement time of the specimen using CII connection are 0.008 rad and 280 min, respectively. The maximum replaceable residual shear angle and replacement time of the specimen using CIII connection are 0.01 rad and 50 min, respectively. Overall, the specimen using CIII connection has the best replaceability after damage.
