Abstract

Based on the forming characteristics of automobile panel, the experimental research model and the finite element simulation model for hyperbolic shallow shell were established to study the stiffness problem. The reliability of the numerical simulation on the analysis and prediction of the stiffness of panel was verified. The influence of factors, namely panel geometry, forming process and material performance parameters on stiffness, was studied by the combination of numerical simulation and test, and the influence weight of each factor on stiffness was analyzed. The influence mechanism of the stiffness of the hyperboloid shallow shell was revealed. Under the background of reducing weight and saving energy, without increasing sheet metal thickness, changing the automobile streamline design, choosing the appropriate material and adjusting the forming process parameters can help to improve the stiffness of automobile panels.
