Abstract
It has been found that riblets with smaller angle between the sloping walls could enhance the performance of drag reduction. In this paper, Large-Eddy Simulations method (LES) is used to calculate the turbulent flow field of the triangular riblets, trapezoidal riblets and blade-shaped riblets with the same h and s. The effects of riblets with different riblet angles on turbulent drag reduction are studied. By analyzing the turbulent flow over a riblet-covered surface, vorticity field, the distribution of local friction along the spanwise and normal of riblet and the drag reduction mechanism of riblets with different riblet angles are discussed.
