Abstract

In order to solve the problem of current unbalance of parallel-connected multi-pulse rectifier and increase load voltage, a series-connected 18-pulse rectifier is proposed. In order to obtain the operating characteristics of 18-pulse rectifier based on isolation transformer with constant-voltage load, an 18-pulse isolation transformer was designed according to the process of the forming of 18-pulse wave. A definition was given on the switching function of three-phase bridge rectifiers. Through the description of the structure of the rectifier, the equivalent model of the rectifier was established. By analyzing the switching function of three-phase bridge rectifiers, the working method of the rectifier was obtained. The simulation and experimental results show that the device is an 18-pulse rectifier, and the load voltage and load current reach a permanent state.
