Abstract
The slamming of a trimaran cross-deck has always been a difficult issue in the field of hydrodynamics. In order to effectively reduce the computation of the dynamic response under the slamming load, this paper proposes a slamming response method for trimaran cross-deck with the aid of the equivalent static coefficients based on the grillage model. Firstly, by analyzing the structural transient response of a three-dimensional grillage during the water entry, the direct integration method and modal superposition method are compared to select the more appropriate method for the dynamic response calculation. Secondly, the influences of boundary condition and time effect on the peak stress and the equivalent static coefficients of the grillage are analyzed by modifying the calculation parameters. Finally, the results from the present method are compared with those of the trimaran's segmental model to verify the feasibility of the equivalent static coefficient method through the simplified model. The calculation results and related conclusions could provide reference for the subsequent accurate analysis of the slamming responses of the local structure, and the evaluation of the high stress location and yield strength of the cross-deck.
