Abstract
Aiming at the problem of high bus voltage spike in the traditional single-stage single-phase full-bridge power factor correction (PFC) converter during commutation, a method of incorporating improved RCD (resistance capacitance diode)clamps on its bus is proposed to suppress it. Based on an in-depth study of the clamping mechanism of the bus voltage spike suppression mechanism, the energy transfer process of the modified RCD clamp was analyzed, and the quantitative relationship between the peak voltage and the clamp parameters was obtained, and then the clamp link was given. The design method of each parameter was carried out, and the performance of the proposed method was tested. The influence of the parameters of the clamp on the suppression of the bus voltage spike and the performance of the converter were discussed. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively control the bus voltage peak without affecting the power factor correction effect and achieve voltage spike suppression.
